While walking outside tonight I saw Jupiter and Venus appearĀ near each other in the western sky (though not so close as they appeared last week). I never cease to be amazed by the thought of seeing the surface of a planet from millions of miles away. A star generates its own light, but we see Venus by the same light as we might see a mountain or a magazine.
